A neural network is a computer system modeled after the operation of neurons in the human brain.
AI emerged alongside the development of neural networks. In 1956, American psychologist Frank Rosenblatt implemented an early demonstration of a neural network - the Perceptron Model. This network classified simple images, such as triangles and squares, through supervised learning. It was a computer with only eight artificial neurons, made from motors and dials, and connected to 400 light detectors.
