John McCarthy

John McCarthy, an American computer scientist, is often referred to as the "father of AI." He coined the term "artificial intelligence" and organized the Dartmouth Conference in 1956, which brought together leading researchers and marked the beginning of AI as a distinct field of study. McCarthy made significant contributions to AI planning, knowledge representation, and the development of the programming language LISP.
